Behind The Scenes

For this post, I thought I'd share a little BTS of my recording process. Though I typically produce all my work in Ableton Live with a focus on original synthetic sound design, I often record live musical elements like vocals or instrumentation in Logic or even Pro Tools. Here is some moments of me recording with friends!

In these excerpts, you can see a variety of recording spaces. The one with Sienna Hodgeson (on vocals) is in my family home: a tiny backyard shed decked out with acoustic foam. This is the space where probably 99% of my recordings take place. The other images (featuring Amadea Foss and Julia Wallace) are from a couple actual studios at WAAPA, which i was very fortunate to be able to access and learn professional studio practices in. The photo of my laptop screen shows how i use Melodyne to clean up my vocal recordings.
